Meet Me on The Teaching Tribune PLUS Monday Made It!

Today is the day you have all been waiting for. Okay, well maybe I have just been waiting for it! Anyways, today is the day that you can meet me on
The Teaching Tribune!

When you hop over there today, you can read a little about me and a super important organizational tip for the beginning of the school year. The best part? You can enter to win one of the 3 fabulous prizes still left! So EASY to enter and we will pick another winner tonight! Click here for more information on how to win!  If you are coming from The Teaching Tribune, you can click on the "Meet the Teacher" link at the top of the page to find out even more about me.

Now for my first ever Monday Made It!

The wedding is over...sad face. The thank yous are well, almost finished...happy face!  Now what to do with gigantic stack of wedding cards?  I cannot possibly throw them away and putting them in a box stashed somewhere hardly sounds fun.  Then, a Pinterest idea sparked my brain!  I could not for the life of me find this idea that I knew I had once seen and I have no idea why I never pinned it, but, behold, here is my interpretation of a homemade card display...I am loving it!

All you really need is some colorful ribbon (I picked purple, my wedding color), scissors, a sturdy hole puncher, and a few safety pins (not pictured).  You need your stack of wedding cards also!

I had a stack of various sized cards so I picked a medium sized card to begin with.  With the card closed, I simply punched 3 holes down the side.  I didn't measure or anything.  I figured eyeing it up was good enough!

Line up all the other cards on the left hand side and on the bottom with the first card that you hole punched.  You want all the cards to be able to stand up when  you are finished so lining the cards up on the bottom is extremely important.  Then, I just made three little dots and hole punched the dots.  I went through and did each card in this same way.
Here's a couple tips for step 3...
If a card is too small to have all three punches, just make two.  It will work fine once you have all the cards attached together.  Additionally, I had a couple cards that were bound at the top.  All I did was cut these cards on this top fold so that the card was in two pieces.  Then, I still hole punched on the left hand side.

Once all the holes are punched, it's time to start threading the ribbon through!  I started with the middle holes first and I safety pined the ends to hold it in place while I threaded the bottom and top holes.  Remember it's okay if not all the cards have a top hole to go through.  I simply staggered the smaller cards throughout the stack so everything would stay nicely in place.

All that is left is to remove the safety pins and tie some tight, pretty bows!

Here's the final product!  Even the hubby loves it!

Now the teacher side of me thinks this would be a great idea to do with student thank you cards. I usually don't save them, but I think I am going to start a box this year and when I collect enough, make another one of these crafty card displays for the classroom!

I also am linking up with Tara over at 4th Grade Frolics!  Join us or just pop over to see some more fantastic "Made It" ideas!

Oh, and one last reminder to head over to The Teaching Tribune to enter today's rafflecopter!  There are three fabulous prizes left...a TpT $50 gift certificate, a Google Nexus Tablet, and Product Bundle Pack!  WOW!  As always, GOOD LUCK!

Hot Off the Press!! Back to School Exclusive!!

I have some great NEWS for you today and I am so excited to finally let the cat out of the bag!  I have collaborated with 20 AMAZING teacher-bloggers and we have begun dreading celebrating that it is almost time to go back to school! We all love summer, but it’s time to start thinking about getting back to school. We have decided that everyone needs some fun to break up all those days of professional development and endless meetings, mixed with late nights and weekends spent decorating your classroom. So for the next 10 days, we are celebrating with freebies and a prize a day! Yes, that's what I said a PRIZE A DAY… FOR 10 DAYS!!

Every day, you will have the chance to enter and win one of 10 great prizes!

This is what you can win during our Back to School Exclusive
(in no particular order)...

Now remember these prizes are in no particular order, so it is important to enter everyday in order to have your chance at every prize!  These are some FANTASTIC prizes too!  Go ahead, read the list again!

Okay, now for the FUN...

This is the IMPORTANT part. Please read carefully. EVERY DAY, FOR 10 DAYS, you will need to visit the final stop of the blog hop each day to enter to win and to see if you were the previous day’s winner! Each day a winner will be drawn and one of the ten prizes will be awarded.

To keep it fun and exciting, you won’t know what prize you have entered to win until the winner is announced the next day! You never know what you might win! I know I would visit every day to enter for a chance to win the Google Nexus Tablet!

So how do you enter?  4 EASY STEPS...

STEP 1: You will need to download and print the Hot Off the Press Cheat Sheet. Click the image below.

STEP 2: You’ll need to collect your freebies. This BLOG HOP will take you to all 20 blogs where you will collect freebies along the way. You can start at any of the blogs, follow the “next stop” buttons, and it will take you in a loop to all 20 blogs.  The very last stop will be The Teaching Tribune, our new and exciting collaborative blog!  You can also check out our NEW facebook page here!

Here's my freebie! I hope you enjoy :)

STEP 3: Hidden in each freebie is a QR code, which looks like this…
(Note: This is just a sample image. You do not need it for any reason.)

Find the QR code.  Did you find mine?  Each QR code you find will be black. You will need to scan all 20 QR codes for a cash value with your smart device.  For those of you without a smart device, head on over to Sugar & Spice where she has the solution for you. She found a simple way to scan QR codes using just your computer!  I am in love with this...especially for classrooms that do not have any IPads or other smart devices!

*After downloading the freebie at each blog stop, be sure to record the amount in the QR code onto your cheat sheet you downloading above.

STEP 4: Once you have all 20 cash value amounts, add them up, then you will enter the total value to win a prize a day on the Rafflecopter. All prizes will be posted on The Teaching Tribune blog!

It’s time to get started!
After you have downloaded my freebie above and found the value of my hidden QR code, add this value to your cheat sheet for stop #15!  Yep, this is the the 15th stop on the BLOG HOP!

THE NEXT STEP: Click here to head over to the next blog to grab your freebie!  It's actually Christina from Sugar and Spice so you get to visit her again!

I really hope you have fun with this and enjoy all the FREEBIES!  I also wish everyone the best of luck winning those fabulous daily prizes!

Last thing, if you would like to start at stop #1 on the BLOG HOP,
here you go...

Good luck to all!  :)
